Community of Interest (CoI)

A CoI is a group of people connected to each other by a shared need to solve common problems, develop skills and share best practices.

What is MOBIO ?

MOBIO is a FP7 European research project (FP7-2007-ICT-1) planned over 3 years and started in January 2008. The goal of MOBIO is to develop new mobile services secured by biometric authentication means. Scientific and technical objectives include robust-to-illumination face authentication, robust-to-noise speaker authentication, joint bi-modal authentication, model adaptation and scalability.

What is a Community of Interest (CoI) ?

A CoI is a group of people connected to each other by a shared need to solve common problems, develop skills and share best practices. In the case of MOBIO, it is composed of people representing their corporate employers or clients who are frequently at the interface between basic and applied research, and development. The overall goal of the CoI in MOBIO is to ensure as much as possible an effective exploitation and a take up of the technology developments by validating the potential use of these developments.

The CoI will:
1. Accelerate the readiness of the MOBIO technologies for commercial market acceptance by improving scientist's understanding of current commercial offerings and needs, and by obtaining regular and frequent feedback;
2. Raise the awareness of a closely cultivated group of commercial partners offering advanced technology solutions to the work and achievements of the MOBIO project.

How ?

MOBIO Community of Interest members will receive regular announcements and updates. A MOBIO Community of Interest web page will be added on the MOBIO web site listing key dates and partners.

What do you have to do ?

A CoI member will have to:

  1. Prepare an introductory statement about the member area of interest, specialities and objectives. With the exception of this first introductory statement, there is no requirement to write or prepare reports as part of the membership in the CoI.
  2. Agree to receive and read regular communications.
  3. Participate to the MOBIO workshop at the end of the project where demonstration systems will be presented.
  4. At anytime, you will be able to communicate your observations and recommendations to the MOBIO consortium.

What do you get out of that ?

Members of the CoI get the opportunity to infl uence the research towards their desired needs. They also stay very close to an important research project involving experienced scientists at the forefront of research. In addition to the public deliverables, members will benefit under acceptance of the consortium from: a priority access to project results and outcomes, a privileged access to the developed technologies.
